INPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR CHECK

1.
caution Be careful not to damage a connector terminal.
Disconnect the A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector.
2.Use the special tool (MB991709) to check the continuity between the terminals according to the table below.
Measurement terminal No.
Continuity
14 - body earth
No
13 - body earth
13 - 14
Yes

3.If the measurements do not satisfy the table, check the internal parts in the transmission according to the procedure below:
(1) Remove the drain plug (overflow plug) and overflow tube and then drain fluid (refer to ).
(2) Remove the transmission oil pan (refer to GROUP 23B - Oil Pan and Valve Body Assembly Removal and Installation ).
(3) Disconnect the input shaft speed sensor connector marked by the arrow.
(4) Check the wiring harness between the input shaft speed sensor connector and the A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector for open or short circuit, or other faults.
(5) Electric continuity should be present between the input shaft speed sensor-side connector terminals.
4.If the wiring harness is faulty, replace the transmission wiring harness as an assembly.
5.If no electric continuity is present between the input shaft speed sensor connector terminals, replace the transmission assembly.
