Code No.P0976: Shift solenoid No.2 system (Short circuit)

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS


When the shift solenoid No.2 is ON, if a status continues for 0.5 seconds with which the A/T-ECU terminal monitor signal is OFF (1 drive cycle), code No.P0976 is set.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III actuator test


Item 2: Shift solenoid No.2
OK: Operating sound can be heard.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Measure the resistance at A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector.


Disconnect the connector, and measure the resistance between terminal SVSB line and body earth at the solenoid side.
OK: 11 - 15 Ω (A/T fluid temperature 20°C)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Replace the shift solenoid No.2 and solenoid harness.

STEP 3. Check for short circuit in SVSB line between A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector and A/T-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or the wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.


Check again if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is diagnosis code No.P0976 set?

Replace the A/T-ECU.
