Code No.P0708: Inhibitor switch system (Short circuit)

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

While the engine is running, when a status continues for 10 seconds with which more than two signals from the inhibitor switch are simultaneously turned ON (2 drive cycle), code No.P0708 is set.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Malfunction of the inhibitor switch
Damaged harness wires and connectors
Malfunction of the A/T-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check the inhibitor switch.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 2.

	Replace the inhibitor switch.

STEP 2. Check for short circuit in INHP, INHR, INHN, INHD line between inhibitor switch connector and A/T-ECU connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 3.

	Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Check again if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is diagnosis code No.P0708 set?

	Replace the A/T-ECU.
