DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITION

While the engine is running, when a status continues for 5 minutes with which the input voltage from fluid temperature sensor 1 is less than 0.05 V (1 drive cycle), code No.P0712 is set.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list

Item 6: A/T fluid temperature sensor 1 (Refer to Data List Table ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Measure the resistance at A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector.

Disconnect the connector, and measure the resistance between terminal O/TS line and GRSE line at the sensor side.
OK:

  • Approx. 6.5 Ω (at 10°C)
  • Approx. 3.5 Ω (at 25°C)
  • Approx. 0.25 Ω (at 110°C)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Replace the A/T fluid temperature sensor 1 and solenoid harness.

STEP 3. Measure the voltage at A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector.

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure the voltage between terminal O/TS line and earth at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
OK: 4.5 - 5.1 V

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Check again if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is diagnosis code No.P0712 set?

Replace the A/T-ECU.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

STEP 5. Check for short circuit in O/TS line between A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector and A/T-ECU connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
