Code No.P0971: Clutch control solenoid No.2 system (high current)

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS


When the clutch control solenoid No.2 current is 1,330 mA or more (1 drive cycle), code No.P0971 is set.

PROBABLE CAUSES



DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Measure the resistance at A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector.
Disconnect the connector, and measure the resistance between terminal SL2 line and terminal SL2G line at the solenoid side.
OK: 5.0 - 5.6 Ω (A/T fluid temperature 20°C)

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check for short circuit in SL2, SL2G line between A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector and line pressure control solenoid.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair or replace the solenoid harness or valve body (clutch control solenoid No.2).

STEP 3. Measure the resistance at A/T-ECU connector.
Disconnect the connector, and measure the resistance between terminal SL2 line and terminal SL2G line at the harness side.
OK: 5.0 - 5.6 Ω (A/T fluid temperature 20°C)

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check short circuit in SL2, SL2G line between A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector and A/T-ECU connector.
Check the harness for short circuit (short to power supply).

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s) or the wiring harness.

STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is diagnosis code No.P0971 set?
Replace the A/T-ECU.
