DISASSEMBLY

1. BREATHER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

1.Remove the hose clip remove the breather hose.
2.Remove the breather plug and O-ring from the transmission case.

2. INHIBITOR SWITCH REMOVAL

1.Using a screwdriver, pry off the lock washer.

2.Remove the nut and the lock washer.

caution
  • Do not touch the terminals.
  • Be careful not to damage the inhibitor switch.
Remove the 2 bolts and the inhibitor switch.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 20 mm
note Make sure that the manual valve lever shaft has not been rotated prior to installing the inhibitor switch as the detent spring may become detached from the manual valve lever shaft.

3. OIL PUMP OIL SEAL REMOVAL
caution Be careful not to damage the oil pump.
Remove the oil pump oil seal from the oil pump.

4. FILLER PLUG REMOVAL

Remove the filler plug and the O-ring.

5. TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHAFT LEVER REMOVAL

1.Remove the nut and the spring washer.
2.Remove the transmission control shaft lever from the manual valve lever shaft.

6. MANUAL VALVE LEVER SHAFT OIL SEAL REMOVAL
caution
  • Be careful not to damage the transmission case.
  • Be careful not to damage the manual valve lever shaft.
  • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
  • If using a screwdriver, use a wooden block or equivalent to avoid damaging the fitting surface of the transmission case.

Using a screwdriver, pry out the 2 oil seals from the transmission case.

REASSEMBLY

1. MANUAL VALVE LEVER SHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION
caution
  • Be careful not to damage the manual valve lever shaft oil seal.
  • Be careful not to damage the transmission case.
  • Be careful not to damage the manual valve lever shaft.

Using an appropriate socket wrench and a hammer, install the new 2 oil seal to the transmission case.
Dimension:
-0.2 - 0.4 mm (From the end of the transmission case)

2. TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHAFT LEVER INSTALLATION

1.Install transmission control shaft lever to the manual valve lever shaft.
2.Install the spring washer with the nut to the manual valve lever shaft.
3.Tighten the nut to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 16 ± 2 N·m

3. FILLER PLUG INSTALLATION

1.Coat a new O-ring with ATF, and install it to the filler plug.
SIZE: O-ring
Inner diameter: 15.41 mm
Thickness: 2.21 mm
2.Tighten the filler plug to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 39 ± 15 N·m

4. OIL PUMP OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

caution
  • Be careful not to damage the oil pump oil seal.
  • Be careful not to damage the oil pump.
Using special tool bush remover and installer spacer (MB991446) and a hammer, install the new oil pump oil seal to the oil pump.
Dimension:
-0.2 - 0.2 mm (From the end of the oil pump)

5. INHIBITOR SWITCH INSTALLATION

1.Install the inhibitor switch onto the manual valve lever shaft and temporarily install the 2 bolts.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 20 mm
note Tighten the bolt after adjusting the inhibitor switch to the "N" position.

2.Install the new lock washer with the nut to the inhibitor switch.
3.Tighten the nut to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 6.9 ± 0.9 N·m

4.Using a screwdriver, stake the lock washer.

5.Turn the inhibitor switch to adjust so that the "A" shown in the figure and the scribe line of inhibitor switch match.
6.Tighten the adjusting bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 5.4 ± 1.1 N·m
7.Adjust the manual valve lever shaft to the "P" position.

6. BREATHER ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

1.Install the breather plug and O-ring to the transmission case.
2.Install the breather hose with hose clip.
note Ensure the grips of the hose clip are positioned lower than the top of the hose, and are not touching the transmission case.
