INSPECTION




1. CHECK BRAKE PISTON RETURN SPRING SUB-ASSEMBLY NO. 2


caution If the free length is smaller than the minimum, replace the brake piston return spring sub-assembly No. 2.

Using vernier calipers, measure the free length of the brake piston return spring sub-assembly No. 2.
Standard value: 22.66 mm
(For brake piston return spring sub-assembly No. 2)

2. INSPECT BRAKE DISC SET NO. 2



Check the lining of all discs.
note
  • If the lining is flaking or discoloured, or if it is worn or the print mark is wearing away, replace the discs with a new one. When replacing, check the contact surfaces between the disc, the plate the flange. If they are scratched or discoloured, replace the discs, the plates and the flange with new ones.
  • Before replacing with new discs, soak them in ATF at least 2 hours.

3. CHECK LOW/REVERSE BRAKE RETURN SPRING SUB-ASSEMBLY


caution If the free length is smaller than the minimum, replace the reverse brake return spring sub-assembly.

Using vernier calipers, measure the free length of the low/reverse brake return spring sub-assembly.
Standard value: 23.74 mm
(For low/reverse brake return spring sub-assembly)

4. INSPECT BRAKE DISC SET NO. 4



Check the lining of all discs.
note
  • If the lining is flaking or discoloured, or if it is worn or the print mark is wearing away, replace the discs with a new one. When replacing, check the contact surfaces between the disc, the plate and the flange. If they are scratched or discoloured, replace the discs, the plates and the flanges with new parts.
  • Before replacing with new discs, soak them in ATF at least 2 hours.

5. CHECK ONE-WAY CLUTCH NO. 3



Hold the one-way clutch No. 3 in place. Check that the one-way clutch inner race rotates when turned clockwise and does not rotate when turned anti-clockwise.
