DISASSEMBLY



1. DRAIN PLUG REMOVAL



Using a hexagon wrench (5 mm), remove the drain plug (over flow plug) and the transmission drain plug gasket.

2. TRANSMISSION OIL PAN TUBE REMOVAL



Using a hexagon wrench (5 mm), remove the transmission oil pan tube (over flow tube).

3. TRANSMISSION OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY REMOVAL



1.Remove the 11 bolts to from the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 25 mm

caution
  • Be careful not to damage the fitting surfaces of the transmission case and the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
  • Be careful not to deform the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
Remove the transmission oil pan sub-assembly and the gasket from the transmission case.

4. OIL CLEANER MAGNET REMOVAL




Remove the 4 oil cleaner magnets from the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
note Examine the chips and particles in the transmission oil pan sub-assembly and on the oil cleaner magnet to determine what type of wear has occurred in the transmission.
Steel (magnetic) = bearing, gear and plate wear.
Brass (non-magnetic) = bushing wear.

5. OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL



1.Remove the 4 bolts to remove the oil strainer assembly.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 16 mm

2.Remove the O-ring from the oil strainer.

6. TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS DISCONNECTION



1.Remove the bolt and the lock plate, and pull out the A/T fluid temperature sensor 1 from the valve body assembly.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 12 mm

2.Disconnect the 9 solenoid connectors and the input shaft speed sensor connector.
3.Disconnect the transmission wiring harness from the clamp.

7. TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS FIXATION



Fix the transmission wiring harness with tape to the transmission case as shown in the figure.
note Be sure to secure the transmission wiring harness with tape so that they do not interfere with the removal of the valve body assembly.

8. VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY REMOVAL



Remove the 14 bolts to remove the valve body assembly from the transmission case.
SIZE: Bolt
1: M6 x 1.0 x 28 mm
2: M6 x 1.0 x 40 mm

9. TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS REMOVAL



1.Remove the bolt to remove the clamp.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 12 mm
2.Disconnect the output shaft speed sensor connector.

  • Be careful not to damage the harness.
  • Be careful not to pull the harness forcibly.
Remove the bolt to remove the transmission wiring harness.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 14 mm
4.Remove the O-ring from the transmission wiring harness.

10. OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL


caution Be careful not to damage the output shaft speed sensor.

Remove the bolt to remove the output shaft speed sensor.

M6 x 1.0 x 12 mm

REASSEMBLY



1. OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION

caution Be careful not to damage the output shaft speed sensor.
Install the output shaft speed sensor with the bolt to the transmission case.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 12 mm
2.Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 5.5 ± 1.5 N·m

2. TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS INSTALLATION



1.Coat a new O-ring with ATF, and install it to the transmission wiring harness.
SIZE: O-ring
Inner diameter: 36.8 mm
Thickness: 2.4 mm

  • Be careful not to damage the harness.
  • Be careful not to pull the harness forcibly.
Install the transmission wiring harness with the bolt to the transmission case.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 14 mm
3.Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 5.5 ± 1.5 N·m

4.Connect the output shaft speed sensor connector.

  • Be careful not to damage the harness.
  • Be careful not to pull the harness forcibly.
Install the clamp with the bolt to the transmission case.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 12 mm
6.Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 5.5 ± 1.5 N·m

3. TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS FIXATION



Fix the transmission wiring harness with tape to the transmission case as shown in the figure.
note Be sure to secure the transmission wiring harness with tape so that they do not interfere with the removal of the valve body assembly.

4. VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION



1.
caution Be sure to tighten the bolts a further 90 ± 5 degrees after tightening to the specified torque.
Install the valve body assembly with the new 14 bolts to the transmission case.
SIZE: Bolt
1: M6 x 1.0 x 28 mm
2: M6 x 1.0 x 40 mm
2.Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 8.0 ± 1.2 N·m

5. TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS CONNECTION


1.Remove the pieces of tape used to secure the transmission wiring harness.

2.Connect the transmission wiring harness to the clamp.
3.Connect the 9 solenoid connectors and the input shaft speed sensor connector.

4.Install the A/T fluid temperature sensor 1 and the lock plate with the bolt to the valve body assembly as shown in the figure.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 12 mm
5.Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 10 ± 2 N·m

6. OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION



1.Coat a new O-ring with ATF, and install it to the oil strainer.
SIZE: O-ring
Inner diameter: 31.00 mm
Thickness: 2.72 mm

2.Install the oil strainer assembly with the 4 bolts to the valve body assembly.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 16 mm
3.Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 10 ± 2 N·m

7. OIL CLEANER MAGNET INSTALLATION



Install the 4 oil cleaner magnets to the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
note Clean the oil cleaner magnet before install it.

8. TRANSMISSION OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

caution
  • Be careful not to damage the fitting surfaces of the transmission case and the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
  • Be careful not to deform the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
Install a new gasket and the transmission oil pan sub-assembly to the transmission case.

2.
caution
  • Make sure that there is no oil or foreign matter on the gasket seal surface and transmission oil pan sub-assembly contact surface.
  • Install the gasket so that there is no slack in the gasket, and that the seal surface’s entire circumference is level.
  • Make sure that the gasket drop prevention protrusions are set on the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
  • When tightening the transmission oil pan sub-assembly, make sure that the gasket is not pinched between the gasket tightening area’s sleeve and the transmission case seal surface.
Install the 11 bolts to the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
SIZE: Bolt
M6 x 1.0 x 25 mm
3.Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 7.5 ± 1.5 N·m

9. TRANSMISSION OIL PAN TUBE INSTALLATION



1.Using a hexagon wrench (5 mm), install the transmission oil pan tube (over flow tube) to the transmission.
2.Tighten the transmission oil pan tube (over flow tube) to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 0.8 ± 0.2 N·m

10. DRAIN PLUG INSTALLATION



1.Using a hexagon wrench (5 mm), install the drain plug (over flow plug) and the new transmission drain plug gasket.
2.Tighten the drain plug (over flow plug) to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 16 ± 1 N·m
