BRAKE WARNING LAMP, ABS WARNING LAMP, ASTC INDICATOR LAMP, ASTC OFF INDICATOR LAMP, HILL DESCENT CONTROL INDICATOR LAMP INSPECTION

Check that ABS warning lamp, brake warning lamp, ASTC indicator lamp, ASTC OFF indicator lamp and hill descent control indicator lamp illuminate as follows.
note The brake warning lamp is used as a warning lamp for parking brake, brake fluid level, and EBD control.

1.When the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position, ABS warning lamp, brake warning lamp, ASTC indicator lamp, ASTC OFF indicator lamp and hill descent control indicator lamp <vehicles with hill descent control system> illuminate.
2.The ABS warning lamp, brake warning lamp, ASTC indicator lamp, ASTC OFF indicator lamp and hill descent control indicator lamp illuminate for three seconds*1 and then turn "OFF"*2.
3.Otherwise, check the diagnosis code.
note
  • *1: The ABS warning lamp, the brake warning lamp, the ASTC indicator lamp or the ASTC OFF indicator lamp may continue illuminating. When a diagnosis code, which is associated with the wheel speed sensor, the G sensor, the yaw rate sensor or the steering wheel sensor, is set in the ASTC-ECU as a historic fault, the ECU will allow the warning/indicator lamp to illuminate until the relevant fault is cleared.
  • *2: The brake warning lamp does not turn "OFF" when the parking brake is applied or the brake fluid level is lowered.
