Inspection Procedure 5: Ignition-linked fold/unfold function does not work normally.



caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output circuits are normal.


OPERATION


The ETACS-ECU operates this function in accordance with the input signals below.


COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If this function does not work normally, these input signal circuit(s) or the ETACS-ECU may be defective. Also, with the customisation function, the door mirrors may be set to a mode in which the ignition-linked folding/unfolding function is not activated.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the ETACS customisation function.


By the ETACS customisation function, confirm that "Automatic fold door mirror" is set to "Open/Close by IG".

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
By the ETACS customisation function, set "Automatic fold door mirror" to "Open/Close by IG" (Refer to ).

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III data list


Check the ETACS-related data list (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS, Service Data Reference Table )

Q. Is the check result normal?

YES <Normal conditions are displayed for all items> : Go to Step 3.
NO <Normal condition is not displayed for item No. 19> : Troubleshoot the ETACS-ECU. Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS, Inspection Procedure 5 "The front door switch (driver’s side) signal is not received" .
NO <Normal condition is not displayed for item No. 30> : Troubleshoot the ETACS-ECU. Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS, Inspection Procedure 2 "The ignition switch (IG1) signal is not received" .

STEP 3. Check the trouble symptom.


Check that the ignition-linked folding/unfolding function of door mirrors works normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS, ETACS-ECU ).
