caution Before replacing the hazard indicator assembly, be sure to check that the power supply circuit, earth circuit, and communication circuit are normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If the second seat belt reminder function does not work normally, the second seat belt switch input circuit, or the hazard indicator assembly may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES



DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the second seat belt switch.



Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Replace the second seat belt switch.

STEP 2. Resistance measurement at the second seat belt switch (LH), (centre), (RH) connectors.


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the second seat belt switch (LH), (centre), (RH) connectors (earth terminal) and the body earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check of open circuit in body earth line between second seat belt switch (LH), (centre), (RH) connectors and the body earth.


Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check of short to power supply circuit in SBRL, SBRC, SBRR line between hazard indicator assembly connector and second seat belt switch (LH), (centre), (RH) connectors.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Retest the system.


The second seat belt reminder function should work normally.
