DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics.


Use M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines (refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III actuator test


Use M.U.T.-III to perform the SRS-ECU actuator tests.
Item No. 01: SRS warning lamp

Q. Does the SRS warning lamp turn on and off normally?

Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III actuator test


Use M.U.T.-III to perform the combination meter actuator tests.
Item No. 07: Indicator1

Q. Does the SRS warning lamp turn on and off normally?

Replace SRS-ECU (Refer to ).
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in IG1 line between junction block connector and combination meter connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the combination meter (Refer to GROUP 54A - Combination Meter ).
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. Recheck of the SRS warning lamp


(1)Connect the negative battery terminal.
(2)Ignition switch: "ON"

Q. Does the lamp illuminate?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
