Inspection Procedure A-11: The welcome light function does not work normally.


caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


When the welcome light function does not operate normally, the KOS&OSS-ECU or the ETACS-ECU may have a problem. Or, the welcome light function may have been set to disabled using the customisation function.

PROBABLE CAUSES



DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. ETACS-ECU customise function check.


Check that any one of the followings other than "Disabled" is set for "Welcome light" with a customisation function.

Q. Is it set to other than "Disabled"?

Go to Step 2.

Set "Welcome light" to any one other than "Disabled" with a customise function (Refer to ).

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code


Check if diagnosis code is set in the ETACS-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Troubleshoot the ETACS-ECU. Refer to .

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the KOS operation


Check that the KOS operation normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Troubleshoot the KOS. Refer to GROUP 42B - Troubleshooting .

STEP 4. Check the tail lamps and headlamps.


When the lighting switch is operated, check that the tail lamps and headlamps illuminate/go off normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Troubleshoot the tail lamps and headlamps. Refer to trouble symptom chart .

STEP 5. Retest the system.


The welcome light should work normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Replace the ETACS-ECU.
