Code No.B2464 Meter information SW sticking <Colour liquid crystal display type>


caution Before replacing the combination meter, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT


If the combination meter detects the multi information display switch pressed state for 60 seconds or more continuously with the ignition switch at the ON position and diagnosis code No. U1190 is not set, diagnosis code No. B2464 is set.

PROBABLE CAUSES



DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Multi information display switch check


Check the multi information display switch. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Replace the multi information display switch.

STEP 2. Resistance measurement at the multi information display switch connector


(1)Disconnect the multi information display switch connector, the measure at the harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the multi information display switch connector (earth terminal) and the body earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check of open circuit (disconnect) in body earth line between multi information display switch connector and body earth.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check of short to power supply circuit (connect) in MODE line between combination meter connector and multi information display switch connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.


Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the combination meter.
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the combination meter.

The diagnosis is complete.
