Code No. U119C: Implausible coding data

caution

If diagnosis code No. U119C is set, be sure to diagnose the CAN bus line.
Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION

The headlamp automatic levelling-ECU will set diagnosis code No.U119C when the coding data which is stored in itself does not correspond to the one sent from the ETACS-ECU.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Malfunction of CAN bus line
The headlamp automatic levelling-ECU, which was fitted on another vehicle, is fitted.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics

Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting

STEP 2. Check the VIN.

(1)Use the M.U.T.-III to read out the VIN from the headlamp automatic levelling-ECU.
..... Select "AFS/ACL/Leveling" on the system selection screen.
..... Select "Coding."
..... Select "Chassis No./VIN Information."

(2)Check that the VIN, which is stored in the headlamp automatic levelling-ECU, corresponds to that written in the Vehicle Certificate of Title and Registration.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Replace the headlamp automatic levelling-ECU (Refer to

STEP 3. Coding data check

(1)Use the M.U.T.-III to read out the coding information from the headlamp automatic levelling-ECU.
..... Select "AFS/ACL/Levelling" on the system selection screen.
..... Select "Coding."
..... Select "Coding information & copy."

(2)Check whether the coding data below is set to the normal value.

(1)Use the M.U.T.-III to read out the coding information from the ETACS-ECU.

(2)Check whether the coding data below is set to the normal value.

Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to

STEP 5. Diagnosis code recheck

Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the headlamp automatic levelling-ECU.

(1)Erase the diagnosis code.

(2)Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.

(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.
