Code No. U119A: Chassis No. mismatch

  • If diagnosis code No. U119A is set, be sure to diagnose the CAN bus line.
  • Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION


The headlamp automatic levelling-ECU will set diagnosis code No.U119A when the VIN, which is stored in itself, does not correspond to the VIN, which is exchanged via CAN bus lines.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics.


Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).

STEP 2. Check the VIN.


(1)Use the M.U.T.-III to read out the VIN from the headlamp automatic levelling-ECU.
..... Select "AFS/ACL/Leveling" on the system selection screen.
..... Select "Coding."
..... Select "Chassis No./VIN Information."
(2)Check that the VIN, which is stored in the headlamp automatic levelling-ECU, corresponds to that written in the Vehicle Certificate of Title and Registration.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Replace the headlamp automatic levelling-ECU (Refer to ).

STEP 3. Check the VIN.


(1)Use the M.U.T.-III to read out the VIN from the engine-ECU.
..... On the system selection screen, select "MPI/GDI/Diesel."
..... Select "Coding."
..... Select "Chassis No./VIN Information."
(2)Check whether the VIN, which is stored in the engine ECU, corresponds to that written in the Vehicle Certificate of Title and Registration.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Replace the engine-ECU (Refer to GROUP 13B - Engine-ECU <6B3> or GROUP 13C - Engine-ECU <4N1>).

STEP 4. Diagnosis code recheck


Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the headlamp automatic levelling-ECU.
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the headlamp automatic levelling-ECU (Refer to ).

The procedure is complete.
