Code No. C2226 BSW switch




OPERATION


The clearance warning control unit sets diagnosis code No. C2226 when it receives blind spot warning switch ON-signal for at least one minute, or when it detects any open circuit or short to earth in the blind spot warning indicator circuit while the sonar switch indicator is deactivated.

NO (Normal condition is not displayed for item No. 78) : Go to Step 2.

NO (Normal condition is not displayed for item No. 17) : Go to Step 5.

STEP 2. Check the blind spot warning switch.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Replace the blind spot warning switch (Refer to ).

STEP 3. Check of short to earth circuit in BSW line between the blind spot warning switch connector and clearance warning control unit connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

Replace the clearance warning control unit (Refer to ).

STEP 5. Voltage measurement at blind spot warning switch connector (power supply terminal).


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(3)Check the voltage between the blind spot warning switch connector (power supply terminal) and body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Go to Step 6.

STEP 6. Check of short to earth, and open circuit in power supply line between the ignition switch (IG1) and blind spot warning switch connector.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 7. Check the blind spot warning switch indicator.

Replace the blind spot warning switch (Refer to ).

STEP 8. Check of short to earth, and open circuit in BIND line between the blind spot warning switch connector and clearance warning control unit connector.
