PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check the wiring harness wires between the front side sensor connectors and the clearance warning control unit.

note To check electric continuity, always select a resistance range of a multimeter.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 2. Check the front side sensors.

Disconnect each of the front side sensors one after the other, and check whether diagnosis code C2242 is set.
(1)Disconnect one of the front side sensor connectors.
(2)Erase the diagnosis code.
(3)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(4)Check whether diagnosis code C2242 is set. If not, the corresponding sensor is defective.
(5)Repeat the operation for the other front side sensors from Step 1.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Replace the defective sensor (Refer to ).

STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the clearance warning control unit.
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the clearance warning control unit (Refer to ).
