Inspection Procedure 1: Even when the equipment (power consumption is 150 W or less) is connected, the equipment cannot be used.

COMMENT ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

The wiring harness or connector between the AC inverter and AC inverter socket may be failed. When the wiring harness and connector are normal, the AC inverter or AC inverter socket may be failed.
note When inside of the vehicle is held at high temperature for a long time (for example under the scorching sun), if the power supply is used with the vehicle parked, its operation may be automatically stopped to prevent the power supply unit from being overheated. Also, if the equipment is AC 220 V but not 150 W or less, the equipment cannot be used even when it is connected.

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of AC inverter
  • Malfunction of AC inverter socket

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Voltage measurement at the AC inverter connector (B1 terminal)

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Check the voltage between the AC inverter connector (B1 terminal) and body earth.
OK: Battery positive voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in B1 line between fusible link No. 3 and AC inverter connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Voltage measurement at the AC inverter connector (IG2 terminal)

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3)Check the voltage between the AC inverter connector (IG2 terminal) and body earth.
OK: Battery positive voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in IG2 line between IG2 relay and AC inverter connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Check of open circuit in E1 line between AC inverter connector and body earth

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 6. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in AC1 and AC2 lines between AC inverter connector and AC inverter socket connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 7. Retest the system

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Replace the AC inverter socket temporarily (Refer to ) and go to Step 8.

STEP 8. Retest the system

Q. Is the check result normal?

The procedure is complete.
Replace the AC inverter socket with old one and replace the AC inverter (Refer to ).
