Inspection Procedure 3: The radio broadcasting cannot be received. <Digital radio (vehicles with DAB tuner)>



caution Before replacing the multivision display, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


In case of digital radio broadcasting cannot be received, antenna rod, antenna base <Vehicles with roof antenna>, glass antenna (radio amplifier) <Vehicles with glass antenna>, antenna base, antenna feeder or multivision display (integrated digital audio broadcast (DAB) tuner) may have a problem.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Confirmation in multivision display service mode.


(1)Display the "Communication Check" screen (Refer to ).
(2)Check that "Tuner/DAB" is "OK".

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 2. Check the state of the antenna rod and antenna base <Vehicles with roof antenna> or glass antenna (radio amplifier) <Vehicles with glass antenna>.


Q. Is the antenna assembled?

Go to Step 3.
Assemble antenna rod and antenna base <Vehicles with roof antenna> or the quarter window glass <Vehicles with glass antenna>.

STEP 3. Check if there is any damage to the antenna rod and antenna base <Vehicles with roof antenna> or glass antenna (radio amplifier) <Vehicles with glass antenna> and antenna feeder.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Replace the antenna rod and antenna base<Vehicles with roof antenna> or the quarter window glass <Vehicles with glass antenna> and antenna feeder.

STEP 4. Check the connection of the antenna feeder’s plug and multivision display.


Q. Is the antenna feeder’s plug thoroughly connected to the multivision display?

Go to Step 5.
Thoroughly connect the antenna feeder’s plug and the multivision display.

STEP 5. Substitute a known good multivision display, and check the trouble symptom.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the multivision display (Refer to ).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
