caution Before replacing the multivision display, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If the microphone does not respond to your voice normally, the microphone or multivision display may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code <Vehicles with ERA-GLONASS SYSTEM>


Check whether the e-Call control unit diagnosis codes are set or not.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Diagnose the e-Call control unit troubleshooting (Refer to ).
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check if the error message is displayed on the multivision display.

Q. Is the error message displayed on the monitor?

YES : Refer to error massage (refer to ), take necessary steps.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the service data for multivision display.


Using the multivision display diagnosis mode, check if the "Communication Check" (Refer to ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 4. Check the microphone for multivision display.


Using the multivision display diagnosis mode, check if the "Mic Check" (Refer to ).
OK: Your voice which you speak through the microphone is generated by the speaker.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Replace the microphone unit temporarily, and check the trouble symptom.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the microphone unit (Refer to ).
Go to Step 6.

STEP 6. Check of short to power supply, short to earth and open circuit in SNSE, MIC+ and MIC- line between microphone unit connector and smartphone link display audio connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 7. Retest the system


Check whether the microphone responds to your voice normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Replace the multivision display (Refer to ).
