TEL Antenna Connection
| caution |
- Park the vehicle
in an open area where radio wave is not shielded.
- When replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
- If the system detects that the TEL antenna is disconnected for 5 seconds
or more within 20 seconds after the ignition switch is turned ON, the e-Call control unit sets
diagnosis code No.B1854.
- If the system detects that the TEL antenna has been disconnected consecutively twice
in 20 seconds or more after the ignition switch is turned ON, the e-Call control unit will set
diagnosis code No.B1854.

PROBABLE CAUSES
- Damaged wiring harness or connector(s)
- Malfunction of TEL antenna
- Malfunction of e-Call control unit
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check the connection of TEL antenna feeder’s
connector and e-Call control unit.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2
Thoroughly connect the TEL antenna feeder’s connector and the e-Call control unit.
STEP 2. Check if there is any damage to the TEL antenna feeder and
TEL antenna.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3
Replace the TEL antenna feeder and TEL antenna.
STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the e-Call control unit.

(1)Erase the diagnosis code.

|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.

|
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.

Replace the TEL antenna (Refer to

Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection
Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the e-Call control unit.
