DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list


Check the e-Call control unit data list (Refer to ).

Go to Step 4.

STEP 2. Check e-Call switch

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Replace the e-Call switch (Refer to ).

STEP 3. Resistance measurement at the e-Call switch connector (SW1- terminal)


(1)Disconnect the e-Call switch connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Check the resistance between the e-Call switch connector terminal SW1+ and body earth.
OK: No continuity

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. M.U.T.-III special function.


Check the indicator (Refer to ).
Test
OK: The green lamp and red lamp illuminate alternately every one second (during the test).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

NO : Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Check indicator at between the e-Call switch connector (ID1+, ID4+ or SW- terminals)


(1)Disconnect the e-Call switch connector, and measure at the unit side.
(2)Apply a voltage of approximately 5 V between the e-Call switch connector terminal ID1+ and SW-, and check that the indicator illuminates.
OK: The left LED illuminates in red.
(3)Apply a voltage of approximately 5 V between the e-Call switch connector terminal ID4+ and SW-, and check that the indicator illuminates.
OK: The right LED illuminates in green.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.

Replace the e-Call switch (Refer to ).

STEP 6. Resistance measurement at between the e-Call switch connector (ID1+ or ID4+ terminals)


(1)Disconnect the e-Call switch connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Check the resistance between the e-Call switch connector terminal ID1+ and body earth.
(3)Check the resistance between the e-Call switch connector terminal ID4+ and body earth.
OK: No continuity

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.


Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the e-Call control unit.
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the e-Call control unit (Refer to ).

Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
