caution When replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If the system does not enter the test mode, the e-Call switch circuit is opened, the e-Call switch or the e-Call control unit may fail.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check e-Call switch


Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Replace the e-Call switch (Refer to ).

STEP 2. Resistance measurement at between the e-Call control unit connector and the e-Call switch connector (SW1+ or SW1- terminals)


(1)Disconnect the e-Call control unit connector and the e-Call switch connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Check the resistance between the e-Call control unit connector terminal SW1+the e-Call switch connector terminal SW1+ and SW1+.
(3)Check the resistance between the e-Call control unit connector terminal SW1+the e-Call switch connector terminal SW1- and SW1-.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Retest the system


Q. Is the check result normal?

The diagnosis is complete.

Replace the e-Call control unit (Refer to ).
