Inspection Procedure 1: No navigation screen is displayed.

caution Whenever the multivision display is replaced, ensure that the power supply circuit and the earthing circuit are normal. (Check that the voltage is 10 V or more.)

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

When the ignition switch is turned to the ACC or ON position, if the screen is not displayed at all, the power supply circuit or multivision display may have a problem.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Voltage measurement at multivision display connector (ACC terminal).

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the "ACC" position.
(3)Check the voltage between the multivision display connector (ACC terminal) and body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

NO <vehicles without KOS> : Go to Step 2.

NO <vehicles with KOS> : Go to Step 3.

STEP 2. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in ACC line between ignition switch (ACC) and multivision display connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Refer to Inspection Procedure "Malfunction of the ignition switch power supply system".

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Check the M.U.T.-III Diagnosis code for other systems.

Check that the KOS&OSS-ECU sets a diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Diagnose the KOS&OSS-ECU. Refer to GROUP 42B, Troubleshooting.

Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in ACC line between ACC relay and multivision display connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Voltage measurement at multivision display connector (+B terminal).

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Check the voltage between the multivision display connector (+B terminal) and body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Go to Step 6.

STEP 6. Check of short to earth, and open circuit in +B line between fusible link and multivision display connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 7. Check of short to open circuit in GND line between multivision display connector and body earth.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 8. Retest the system.

Check if the multivision display power is turned ON.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

Replace the multivision display.
