  • Whenever the multivision display is replaced, ensure that the power supply circuit and the earthing circuit are normal. (Check that the voltage is 10 V or more.)
  • Whenever the multivision display is replaced, select "Select Model" on the dealer mode screen.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


The rain light sensor determines whether it is day or night time. If the day/night modes are not switched according to ambient brightness, the wiring harness, connector(s), the multivision display or the ETACS-ECU may have a problem,

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Self-connection check by MMES.


(1)Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(2)Display the "Check Connectivity" screen (Refer to ).
(3)When the rain light sensor is covered with a piece of black paper, "OK" should be displayed on "Illumination" item.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the multivision display.

Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in ILL+ line between multivision display connector and ETACS-ECU (tail lamp relay).


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Retest the system.


Check whether the day/night modes are switched when the brightness around the rain light sensor is changed.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Replace the ETACS-ECU.
