caution Whenever the rear display unit is replaced, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the DVD insertion surface.


Check that the DVD is inserted with the correct surface facing up.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Check the disc insertion surface, and reinsert the disc. (In case of a single-sided disc, insert it with its label facing upward.)

STEP 2. Check the DVD.


Check that the DVD has the correct region code.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Use a DVD with a correct region code.

STEP 3. Check the DVD.


Check that the DVD is free of dirt or scratch.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Clean the disc, use a disc without scratches and burrs, or remove the burrs from the disc, and then reinsert the disc.

STEP 4. Temporarily substitute this DVD with another DVD which is compatible with this DVD drive, and check the trouble symptom.


Check that the new DVD is played normally when it is inserted.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the used DVD.

Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Temporarily replace the rear display unit, and check the trouble symptom.


After temporary replacement of the rear display unit, check that the new DVD is played normally when it is inserted.
