Inspection procedure
1: One of The Rear Door Switch Signals is not Received.

Whenever the ECU is replaced,
ensure that the input signal circuit is normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If there is an error to the rear door switches or tailgate latch switch input signal,
the rear door switches signal is no longer output to the communication line.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of rear door switch (LH)
- Malfunction of rear door switch (RH)
- Malfunction of tailgate latch switch
- Malfunction of the gateway-ECU
- Damaged harness wires and connectors
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list
Check signals from each doors.

(1)Open the rear door (RH) with the other rear door and the tailgate closed.

Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace the rear door switches or tailgate switch (Refer to GROUP 42A - Door Assembly or
Tailgate ).
STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between each rear door switches connector
or the tailgate latch switch connector and the gateway-ECU connector.
- Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open
circuit in DOOR line between gateway-ECU connector and rear door switch (RH). <Rear door
(RH)>
- Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in DOOR line between
gateway-ECU connector and rear door switch (LH) connector. <Rear door (LH)>
- Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in DOOR line between
gateway-ECU connector and tailgate latch switch connector. <Tailgate>
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 5. M.U.T.-III data list
Open each of the rear doors and the tailgate.
