Inspection procedure 7: One of the door switch signals is not received.



caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input signal circuit is normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If there is an error to the rear door switch and tailgate latch switch input signal, the rear door switch signal is no longer output to the communication line.
note
  • When the right, left rear door or tailgate is opened, the signal is also displayed as "Rear door switch". Therefore, when "Rear door switch" signal is displayed as abnormal, you should determine which signal line is defective by opening the rear doors and tailgate one at a time.
  • On vehicles with the gateway-ECU, the rear door switch and the tailgate latch switch are connected to the gateway-ECU.

Go to Step 2.

NO (Normal condition is not displayed for item No. 19) : Refer to Inspection Procedure 5 "The front door switch (driver’s side) signal is not received ."

NO (Normal condition is not displayed for item No. 48) : Refer to Inspection Procedure 6 "The front door switch (passenger’s side) signal is not received ."

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III data list.


Open a rear door or tailgate to be checked (the others must be closed).

YES <Vehicles with gateway-ECU> : Go to Step 4.

YES <Vehicles without gateway-ECU> : Go to Step 7.

Replace the rear door switch or tailgate latch switch.

Check the gateway-ECU system data list (Refer to GROUP 54C - Service Data Reference Table ).

STEP 5. Check of short to earth, and open circuit in DOOR line between ETACS-ECU connector and gateway-ECU connector.

Replace the gateway-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54C - Gateway-ECU ) and then go to Step 8.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 6. Check the wiring harness between rear doors switch connector or tailgate latch connector and gateway-ECU connector.



Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the gateway-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54C - Gateway-ECU ).

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 7. Check the wiring harness between rear doors switch connector or tailgate latch connector and ETACS-ECU connector.



Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
