1.Remove the bracket.

2.Insert a flat-tipped screwdriver between the projections on the armature to counterhold it. Then remove the mounting bolts to remove the armature.
note It works so that cloth may be assigned and a projections may not be damaged.

3.Use the gear puller (MH062469) to remove the rotor.

4.Use snap ring pliers to remove the snap ring.
5.Remove the coil.

REASSEMBLY SERVICE POINTS

1.Install the coil to the A/C compressor.

2.Use snap ring pliers to install the snap ring.
caution
  • To seat the snap ring, do not expand it until its inner diameter reaches 30.5 mm or more.
  • Note that the snap ring is rendered unserviceable when it is removed. Always replace it with a new one.

3.Use the lower arm bushing remover and installer (MB990828) and a hammer to press in the rotor.
note Insert the rotor in a direction perpendicular to the A/C compressor.

4.Insert a flat-tipped screwdriver between the projections on the armature to counterhold it. Then install the mounting bolts to install the armature.
note It works so that cloth may be assigned and a projections may not be damaged.
Tightening torque: 18 ± 1 N·m

5.Install the bracket.
Tightening torque: 2.0 ± 0.4 N·m

6.Install the A/C compressor clutch assembly, and then use a feeler gauge to measure the air gap. If it is out of the standard value, adjust it with shim(s).
caution To adjust the air gap, you can use at most three washers.

    Standard value: 0.3 - 0.6 mm
