INSPECTION PROCEDURE 3: Cool air does not come <Rear side>

CIRCUIT OPERATION

If cool air is not distributed through the rear vent when the rear fan switch and the rear cooler control panel switch are ON while the engine is running and the front fan is on, the A/C compressor circuit or the dual pressure switch circuit or rear cooler component may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • The refrigerant quantity is inadequate.
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of the rear blower relay
  • Malfunction of the rear blower
  • Malfunction of the fin thermo sensor
  • Malfunction of the rear fan switch
  • Malfunction of the rear blower power transistor
  • Malfunction of the engine-ECU
  • Malfunction of the dual pressure switch
  • Malfunction of the A/C compressor relay
  • Malfunction of the A/C compressor and clutch
  • Malfunction of the rear cooler control panel
  • Malfunction of the heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU)

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Turn on the heater controller A/C switch. Is cool air distributed through the front vents?

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Refer to Inspection Procedure 2 "Cool air does not come" <Front side>.

STEP 2. Check the rear blower operation.

Check that air blows through the air outlets.
(1)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(2)Turn on the rear fan switch and the rear cooler control panel.
(3)Check that the air comes out of the rear blower.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Refer to GROUP 55A - Inspection Procedure 4 "The blower does not work" <Rear side>.

STEP 3. Retest the system.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Refer to GROUP 55A - Inspection Procedure 9 "Rear cooler control panel power supply system" .
