INSPECTION PROCEDURE 6: The blower air volume cannot be changed <Rear side>

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
|
|
|
If the air quantity of the rear blower cannot be regulated by operating the rear cooler control panel, the rear blower power transistor and its associated wire(s) may be defective.
|
|
|
- Malfunction of the rear blower power transistor
- Malfunction of the centre room lamp (integrated rear cooler control panel)
- Damaged wiring harness or connector
|
|
|
STEP 1. Voltage measurement at rear cooler control panel connector.
|
|
|
(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
|
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
|
|
|
(3)Voltage between terminal P/TC and body earth.
OK: System voltage
|
|
|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
|
 Go to Step 3.
|
|
|
|
|
|
 Go to Step 2.
|
|
|
|
|
|
STEP 2. Check open circuit in rear cooler control panel P/TC line between rear blower power transistor connector and rear cooler control panel connector P/TC terminal.

|
|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
|
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction  ).
|
|
|
|
|
|
Repair or replace the connector(s) or wiring harness.
|
|
|
|
|
|
STEP 3. Voltage measurement at rear cooler control panel connector.
|
|
|
(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
|
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
|
|
|
(3)Voltage between terminal P/TB and body earth.
OK: System voltage
|
|
|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
|
Go to Step 5.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Go to Step 4.
|
|
|
|
|
|
STEP 4. Check open circuit in rear cooler control panel P/TB line between rear blower power transistor connector and rear cooler control panel connector P/TB terminal.

|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
|
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
|
|
|
|
|
|
Repair or replace the connector(s) or wiring harness.
|
|
|
|
|
|
STEP 5. Recheck the trouble symptom.
|
|
|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
|
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
|
|
|
|
|
|
Replace the rear power transistor (Refer to ). Then go to Step 6.
|
|
|
|
|
|
STEP 6. Recheck the trouble symptom.
|
|
|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
|
The trouble symptom is complete.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Replace the centre room lamp (integrated rear cooler control panel) (Refer to GROUP 54A - Interior Lamp ).
