INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1: Air refresher ionizer switch indicator does not turn on/off when the switch is operated. <Vehicles with nanoe™>

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

When the air refresher ionizer switch indicator does not turn on/off by operating the air refresher ionizer switch, the switch or the heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU) may have a problem.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Malfunction of air refresher ionizer switch
Malfunction of heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU)
Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check of open and short circuit in I/GS and IGI lines between the heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU) connector and air refresher ionizer switch connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 2. Check of open and short circuit in power supply line between ignition switch (IG1) or IG1 relay, and air refresher ionizer switch connector terminal No. 9 and 10

Q. Is the check result normal?

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Check the air refresher ionizer switch.

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

Replace the heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU).
