Code No. P1277: Fuel Filter Freeze <Except vehicles for Thailand, Australia and New Zealand>

FUNCTION

The engine-ECU estimates that the fuel filter is freezing, using the input signal from the each sensor.
When setting this diagnosis code, the engine-ECU blinks the glow lamp.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

Check Conditions

During steady driving
Fuel temperature is lower than specified temperature
Engine coolant temperature is lower than specified temperature

Judgement Criteria

Determination of clogged fuel filter
Fuel pressure hunting occurs more than certain degree, or difference more than certain degree exists between target fuel pressure and actual fuel pressure

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION

The rail pressure is controlled by more than 50 MPa.
The accelerator pedal opening is controlled to be 0 %.
