REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION


caution
  • When removing or installing the glow plug, be careful not to let the glow plug end touch the cylinder head hole.
  • Do not reuse the glow plug that has been dropped.
  • Do not use power tools for glow plug installation otherwise the glow plug might be damaged.
  • Manually tighten the glow plug until it is seated. Then, tighten it to the specified torque.

Pre-removal Operation

  • Throttle Body Removal (Refer to GROUP 13B - Throttle Body ) <Vehicles with Intercooler>.
  • EGR Valve and EGR Valve Pipe Removal (Refer to GROUP 17 - EGR Valve and EGR Cooler ).

Post-installation Operation

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT



>>A<< GLOW PLUG / GLOW PLUG PLATE INSTALLATION


1.Tighten the glow plugs to 9.0 ± 1.0 N·m.

2.Using special tool angle gauge (MB991614), tighten the glow plug to a further 30° to 40°.
3.Install a glow plug plate to the glow plug, and then tighten them to the specified torque of 1.8 ± 0.2 N·m.
