OPERATION
When voltage is applied to the transfer actuator from the transfer-ECU, the motor turns to the normal direction and the drive mode is shifted in the order of 2H → 4H → 4L. When voltage is applied to the transfer actuator, the motor turns to the reverse direction and the drive mode is shifted in the order of 4L → 4H → 2H.
DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS
- When power supply voltage rises to 4.9 V or more, the code No.C1431 is set as high voltage.
- When power supply voltage drops to 1.1 V or less, the code No.C1432 is set as low voltage.
- When power supply current rises to 1.0 A or more, the code No.C1433 is set as high current.
- When power supply current drops to 100 mA or less, the code No.C1434 is set as low current.
- When power supply voltage rises to 4.9 V or more, the electric current monitoring circuit offset value is 3.4 V or more, or 0.3 V or less, diagnosis code No.C1435 will be set.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of the transfer actuator
- Damaged harness wires and connectors
- Malfunction of the transfer-ECU

STEP 1. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in TM1 line between transfer-ECU and transfer actuator connector.

 Go to Step 2.
|
|
|
|
|
|
 Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
|
|
|
|
|
|
STEP 2. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in TM2 line between transfer-ECU and transfer actuator connector.

Is the check result normal?
|
|
|
Go to Step 3.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
|
|
|
|
|
|
STEP 3. Resistance measurement at the transfer actuator connector (transfer motor terminal).
|
|
|
(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
|
|
|
(2)Measure the resistance between the transfer actuator connector (transfer motor terminal) and transfer actuator connector (transfer motor terminal).

Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
|
Go to Step 4.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Replace the transfer actuator
|
|
|
|
|
|
STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
|
|
|
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the transfer-ECU.
|
|
|
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
|
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
|
|
|
(3)Turn the drive mode-selector between "2H" and "4H" position, and check that the transfer motor work.
|
|
|
(4)Check that the diagnosis code is set again.
|
|

Is the diagnosis code set?

|
|
Replace the transfer-ECU (Refer to  ).

|
|
|
|
|
