Code No.P0772: Shift solenoid SR system (ON sticking)

OPERATION

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

While the engine is running, when the fluid temperature is 20°C or more, the engine coolant temperature is 40°C or more, the drive mode selector position is in other than 4L/4LLc, and the mode is in other than sport mode (1st/2nd/3rd), if a status is detected with which an engine racing occurs when upshifting from 1st to 2nd due to the ON seizure of shift solenoid SR (2 drive cycle), code No.P0772 is set.

When the ON seizure of shift solenoid SR is detected, an engine racing occurs when upshifting from 1st to 2nd as shown in the table.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Malfunction of shift solenoid SR
Damaged harness wires and connectors
Malfunction of the A/T-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III actuator test

Item 3: Shift solenoid SR

OK: Operating sound can be heard.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 2.

	Replace the shift solenoid SR and solenoid harness.

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Check again if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is code No.P0772 set?

	Replace the A/T-ECU.

	Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
