Shift switch (up switch/down switch) system
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of shift switch
- Damaged harness wires and connectors
- Malfunction of the A/T-ECU
OPERATION
The shift switch detects the up shift/down shift which the driver has selected, and sends
the information to the A/T-ECU.
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
While the engine is running, when the select switch is other than the sport mode, if the
UP/DOWN signal from shift switch is detected continuously for 10 seconds (1 drive cycle),
code No. P0828 is set.

|

|
(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure the voltage between terminal UPSW line and
earth at the wiring harness side.

(2)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
|

(3)Selector lever position: Upshift and hold the selector lever.
OK: System voltage
|
|
|
(4)Selector lever position: Other than above.
OK: 1 V or less

(3)Selector lever position: Downshift and hold the selector lever.
OK: System voltage
|
|
|
(4)Selector lever position: Other than above.
OK: 1 V or less
