Code No. C1371: Yaw rate sensor error
Code No. C1377: G and yaw rate sensor error
Code No. C1381: G sensor (output error, seizure)
Code No. C1385: Yaw rate sensor active check
Code No. C1386: G sensor active check
Code No. C1864: G and yaw rate sensor power circuit

caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
  • When the hydraulic unit (integrated with ASTC-ECU) is replaced, always carry out the calibration of the steering wheel sensor and the G and yaw rate sensor (Refer to ).

OPERATION

The G and yaw rate sensor output signal is sent to the ASTC-ECU.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

ASTC-ECU monitors the G and yaw rate sensor output signal, and when an abnormality is present in the signal from the G and yaw rate sensor, the ECU determines that the trouble occurs and sets the diagnosis code.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Current trouble
Past trouble
note When the vehicle is driven under special conditions, such as driving on a rough road, this diagnosis code will be set.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis

Use M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnosis Table ). On completion, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Diagnosis code recheck after resetting CAN bus lines

(1)Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(2)Erase the diagnosis code.
(3)Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
(4)Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(5)Start the engine.
(6)Drive the vehicle at the speed exceeds 10 km/h.
(7)Check if the diagnosis code is set.
(8)Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.

Q. Is diagnosis code No. C1366, C1371, C1377, C1381, C1385, C1386 or C1864 set?

Go to Step 3.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III data list

Check the following service data. (Refer to .)

  • Item No. 01: Longitudinal G sensor
  • Item No. 02: Lateral G sensor
  • Item No. 04: Yaw rate sensor
  • Item No. 19: Longitudinal G sensor (Raw value)
  • Item No. 20: Lateral G sensor (Raw value)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Replace the hydraulic unit assembly (integrated with ASTC-ECU) (Refer to ). Then go to Step 5.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Check again if the diagnosis code is set.

Replace the hydraulic unit assembly (integrated with ASTC-ECU) (Refer to ). Then go to Step 5.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).

STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Check again if the diagnosis code is set.

Return to Step 1.
The procedure is complete.
