STEERING ANGLE CHECK

caution
  • When the steering angle is adjusted, the calibration of steering wheel sensor must be performed. (Refer to GROUP 35C - On-vehicle service ). <Vehicles with ASTC>

1.Place the front wheel on a turning radius gauge and measure the steering angle.
Item
2WD (Except high rider)
2WD (High rider), 4WD
Inner wheel
39°10’ ± 2°00’*
36°50’ ± 2°00’*
Outer wheel (reference value)
34°10’
32°40’
note *: Difference between right and left wheels must be 2°00’ or less.
2.If the steering angle is not within the standard value, adjust the toe-in as follows.
Standard value:

at the centre of tyre tread: 0 - 5 mm
    Toe-angle (per wheel): 0° 00’ - 0°12’

3.Adjust the toe-in by undoing the clip and lock nut, and turning the left and right tie rod turnbuckles by the same amount (in opposite directions).
note The toe will move out as the left turnbuckle is turned toward the front of the vehicle and the right turnbuckle is turned toward the rear of the vehicle.
4.Tighten the lock nut to the specified torque, and tighten the bellows by the clip.
Tightening torque: 93 ± 15 N·m
5.Recheck the steering angle.
