PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics

Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

Check if diagnosis code is set in the combination meter.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Refer to .

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code

Check if diagnosis code is set in the engine-ECU, A/T-ECU, ABS-ECU, ASTC-ECU, KOS&OSS-ECU and ETACS-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set in the any of the above?

Set in the engine-ECU. : Troubleshoot the engine (Refer to GROUP 13A - Diagnosis Code Chart <4G6>, GROUP 13B -Troubleshooting <4D5> or GROUP 13C -Troubleshooting <4N1>).

Set in the ABS-ECU. : Troubleshoot the ABS. Refer to GROUP 35B - Troubleshooting .

Set in the ASTC-ECU. : Troubleshoot the ASTC. Refer to GROUP 35C - Troubleshooting .

Set in the KOS&OSS-ECU. : Troubleshoot the KOS. Refer to GROUP 42B - Troubleshooting .

Set in the ETACS-ECU. : Troubleshoot the ETACS. Refer to .

The diagnosis code is not set. : Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check by M.U.T.-III "Special Function"

Using M.U.T.-III, select "Test" from the special function of the combination meter. Execute the following item to check the buzzer.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Replace the combination meter (Refer to ).

STEP 5. Retest the system

Check that the buzzers sound normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Replace the combination meter (Refer to ).
