Inspection Procedure 1: Rear view camera image is not correctly displayed.



caution Before replacing the rear view camera or radio and CD player or multivision, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit, and the communication circuit are normal (Check that the voltage is 10 V or more).

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


When the screen of rear view camera is not shown even if the shift lever <M/T> or selector lever <A/T> is "R" (Reverse) position, the rear view camera, the radio and CD player or multivision display, the wiring harness, connectors, back-up lamp switch <M/T>, inhibitor switch <A/T> may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the radio and CD player or multivision display operation.


Check if the radio and CD player or multivision display normally and the sound is output.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Troubleshoot the radio and CD player (Refer to ), MMCS (Refer to ) or MMES (Refer to ).

STEP 2. Confirmation the service mode.


<Vehicles with radio and CD player>
  1. Display the "Vehicle Signal Check" screen (Refer to ).
  2. Move the shift lever <M/T> or selector lever <A/T> to the "R" (reverse) position.
  3. Check that "Shift Position R" is "ON."
<Vehicles with MMCS>
  1. Display the "Vehicle Signal Check" screen (Refer to ).
  2. Move the shift lever <M/T> or selector lever <A/T> to the "R" (reverse) position.
  3. Check that "Shift Position R" is "ON."
<Vehicles with MMES>
  1. Display the "Check Connectivity" screen (Refer to ).
  2. Move the shift lever <M/T> or selector lever <A/T> to the "R" (reverse) position.
  3. Check that "Back Sensor" is "OK."

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the back-up lamp switch <M/T> or inhibitor switch <A/T>.


Check the continuity of the back-up lamp switch <M/T> or inhibitor switch <A/T>. (Refer to GROUP 22B - Transmission , Refer to GROUP 22C - Transmission , Refer to GROUP 22E - Transmission , Refer to GROUP 22F - Transmission , GROUP 23A - On-vehicle service, Inhibitor switch continuity check )

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Replace the back-up lamp switch <M/T> or inhibitor switch <A/T>.

STEP 4. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in REV line between radio and CD player or multivision display connector and back-up lamp switch <M/T> or inhibitor switch <A/T> connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Confirmation the service mode.


<Vehicles with radio and CD player>
  1. Display the "External Device Connection Check" screen (Refer to ).
  2. Check that "Rear Camera" is "OK."
<Vehicles with MMCS>
  1. Display the "Communications & Connection Check" screen (Refer to ).
  2. Check that "Rear Camera" is "OK."
<Vehicles with MMES>
  1. Display the "Check Connectivity" screen (Refer to ).
  2. Check that "Rear Camera" is "OK."

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Go to Step 6.

STEP 6. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in CACC, CGND, CDET, CMP- and CMP+ line between radio and CD player or multivision connector and rear view camera connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 7. Trouble symptom recheck.


Check that the display of rear view camera is shown normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).

Replace the rear view camera temporarily and go to Step 8.

STEP 8. Trouble symptom recheck.


Check that the display of rear view camera is shown normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the rear view camera.

Replace the radio and CD player or multivision connector.
