Code No.B1761: Chassis No. not programmed


caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
If the chassis No. data is not written when the ETACS-ECU is replaced, the ETACS-ECU sets diagnosis code No. B1761.

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Chassis No. not written
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics.
Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).

STEP 2. Write the Chassis No.


Write the chassis No. data to the ETACS-ECU.

Q. Is diagnosis code No.B1761 set?
Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS, ETACS-ECU ).
The procedure is complete.
