Inspection Procedure 1: Power of the multivision display does not turn on when the ignition switch is in the "ACC" position or "ON" position.

caution Before replacing the multivision display, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

OPERATION

When the ignition switch is in the "ACC" or "ON" position, the multivision display power can be turned on. With the multivision display power turned on, when the ignition switch is turned to the "LOCK" (OFF) position, the power for multivision display is also turned off.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

If the power for multivision display cannot be turned on, the multivision display, or power supply circuit for multivision display may have a problem.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Voltage measurement at multivision display connector.

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Ignition switch: "ACC" position
(3)Check the voltage between the multivision display connector (ACC terminal) and body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check of short to power supply, short to earth and open circuit in ACC line between multivision display connector and ignition switch (ACC).

note Prior to the inspection, check junction block connectors D-402 and D-405 and intermediate connector D-26, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Voltage measurement at multivision display connector (+B terminal).

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Check the voltage between the multivision display connector (+B terminal) and body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit +B line between fusible link and multivision display connector.

note Prior to the inspection, check junction block connectors D-405 and D-409 and intermediate connector D-26, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Check of open circuit in PGND line between multivision display connector and body earth.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 6. Retest the system.

Check if the multivision display power is turned on.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Replace the multivision display (Refer to ).
