Inspection Procedure 2: No sound is heard.

caution Before replacing the multivision display, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

If the audio sound is not output, the multivision display may have a problem. In addition, if any of the speakers or tweeters is short-circuited, the protection circuit inside the multivision display disables all the speakers or tweeters to sound. Therefore, if all the speakers do not output sound, the speaker or tweeter circuit may be shorted or the speakers or tweeters may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check the speaker or tweeter.

(1)Remove the speaker or tweeter.

(2)Check that the speaker or tweeter outputs the noise when the voltage of 5 V is applied to the speaker or tweeter connector terminal.

Q. Do the speaker or tweeter output the noise?

Go to Step 2.

Replace the speaker or tweeter.

STEP 2. Check the wiring harness between the speaker or tweeter connector terminal and the multivision display connector terminal.

note Prior to the inspection, check intermediate connectors D-02, D-220, D-230, E-02 and E-15, and repair if necessary.
Front door speaker (LH)
Check of short circuit in FL+ and FL- lines between front door speaker (LH) connector and multivision display connector
Front door speaker (RH)
Check of short circuit in FR+ and FR- lines between front door speaker (RH) connector and multivision display connector
Tweeter (LH)
Check of short circuit in FL+ and FL- lines between tweeter (LH) connector and multivision display connector
Tweeter (RH)
Check of short circuit in FR+ and FR- lines between tweeter (RH) connector and multivision display connector
Rear door speaker (LH)
Check of short circuit in RL+ and RL- lines between rear door speaker (LH) connector and multivision display connector
Rear door speaker (RH)
Check of short circuit in RR+ and RR- lines between rear door speaker (RH) connector and multivision display connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Retest the system.

Check if the sound is output from all the speakers and tweeters.
note Before checking the sound output, set the sound position to the centre. For details, refer to the user’s manual.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Replace the multivision display (Refer to ).
