INSPECTION PROCEDURE 3: System cannot be activated or deactivated even if corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch is pressed.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

When the system cannot be activated or deactivated even if corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch is pressed, the wiring harness, connectors, corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch, or corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU may be defective.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch
  • Malfunction of corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step 1. Connector check: Corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch connector C-41.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the defective connector.

Step 2. Inspection of corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch

Inspect the corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch for normal operation. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Replace the corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch.

Step 3. Resistance measurement at corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch connector C-41 in order to the earth circuit to the corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch.

(1)Disconnect corner sensor/ back sonar sensor switch connector C-41, and measure at the wiring harness side.

(2)Measure the resistance between terminal 4 and earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Go to Step 4.

Step 4. Check the wiring harness between corner sensor/back sonar sensor switch connector C-41 (terminal 4) and earth.

note Before the wiring harness inspection, inspect the joint connector C-31, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Retest the system.

Repair the wiring harness.

Step 5. Connector check: Corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU C-137.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.

Repair the defective connector.

Step 6. Check the wiring harness between corner sensor/back sonar switch connector C-41 (terminal 3) and corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU connector C-137 (terminal 13).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU.

Repair the wiring harness.
