INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1: Corner sensor OFF indicator lamp and corner sensor indicator do not illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the corner sensor OFF indicator lamp and corner sensor indicator lamp do not illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, the power supply system of corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU, corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU, or combination meter may be defective.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU
  • Malfunction of the combination meter

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step 1. Connector check: Corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU C-137.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the defective connector.

Step 2. Voltage measurement at corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU connector C-137 in order to power supply circuit to corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU (IG1 power supply)

(1)Disconnect corner sensor/ back sonar sensor-ECU connector C-137, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position.

(3)Measure the voltage between terminal 11 and earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Go to Step 3.

Step 3. Check the wiring harness between corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU connector C-137 (terminal 11) and ignition switch (IG1).



note Before the wiring harness inspection, inspect the joint connector C-33, junction block connector C-202 and C-203, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Retest the system.

Repair the wiring harness.

Step 4. Resistance measurement at corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU connector C-137 in order to the earth circuit to the corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU.

(1)Disconnect corner sensor/ back sonar sensor-ECU connector C-137, and measure at the wiring harness side.

(2)Measure the resistance between terminal 20 and earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.

Go to Step 5.

Step 5. Check the wiring harness between corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU connector C-137 (terminal 20) and earth.


note Before the wiring harness inspection, inspect the joint connector C-31, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Retest the system.

Repair the wiring harness.

Step 6. Verification after corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU replacement
After replacing the corner sensor/back sonar sensor-ECU, inspect the indicator lamp for normal operation.

Q. Is the check result normal?
The procedure is complete.
Replace the combination meter.
