FUEL PUMP OPERATION CHECK



<SHORT WHEELBASE>


1.Remove the fuel tank cap.
2.Check the operating of the fuel tank pump by M.U.T.-III to force-drive the fuel tank pump (Refer to ).
note As the fuel tank pump is an in-tank type, the fuel tank pump sound is hard to hear. Then check the sound from the tank inlet.
3.Install the fuel tank cap.



4.If the fuel tank pump will not operate, check by using the following procedure. If normal, check the fuel tank pump drive circuit.
(1) Remove the front scuff plate (R.H.) and outer seat belt (front) anchor bolt (R.H.), and then turn the floor carpet (Refer to GROUP 52A - Trim ).
(2) Remove the service hole cover.
(3) Disconnect the fuel pump module assembly connector.
(4) When the fuel pump module assembly connector terminal is connected directly to the battery, check if the sound of the fuel tank pump operation can be heard. If no operating sound is heard, replace the fuel tank pump [Refer to GROUP 13E - On-vehicle Service, Fuel Pump Module Replacement <6G7> ].
(5) Connect the fuel pump module assembly connector.
(6) Install the service hole cover.
(7) Spread the floor carpet, and then install the front scuff plate (R.H.) and outer seat belt (front) anchor bolt (R.H.) (Refer to GROUP 52A - Trim ).

<LONG WHEELBASE>


1.Remove the fuel tank cap.
2.Check the operating of the fuel tank pump by M.U.T.-III to force-drive the fuel tank pump (Refer to ).
note As the fuel tank pump is an in-tank type, the fuel tank pump sound is hard to hear. Then check the sound from the tank inlet.
3.Install the fuel tank cap.




4.If the fuel tank pump will not operate, check by using the following procedure. If normal, check the fuel tank pump drive circuit.
(1) Tumble the second seat (R.H.).
(2) Remove the service hole cover (upper side).
(3) Remove the service hole cover (lower side).
(4) Disconnect the fuel pump module assembly connector.
(5) When the fuel pump module assembly connector terminal is connected directly to the battery, check if the sound of the fuel tank pump operation can be heard. If no operating sound is heard, replace the fuel tank pump [Refer to GROUP 13E - On-vehicle Service, Fuel Pump Module Replacement <6G7> ].
(6) Connect the fuel pump module assembly connector.
(7) Install the service hole cover (lower side).
(8) Install the service hole cover (upper side).
(9) Restore the second seat (R.H.).
