INSPECTION PROCEDURE A-2: Any of The Sunroof Switch Positions is Defective.



caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.













COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If any of the sunroof switch positions is defective, the communication line between the sunroof switch and the sunroof motor assembly (sunroof-ECU) may be defective.

POSSIBLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Connector check: E-02 sunroof switch connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the connector.

STEP 2. Check the sunroof switch.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Replace the sunroof switch.

STEP 3. Connector check: E-03 sunroof motor assembly connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Repair the connector.

STEP 4. Retest the system.


Q. Which switch position is defective?

"UP" : Go to Step 5.

"OPEN" : Go to Step 6.

"CLOSE/DOWN" : Go to Step 7.

STEP 5. Check the wiring harness between E-03 sunroof motor assembly connector terminal No.7 and E-02 sunroof switch connector terminal No.3.



Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. Check the wiring harness between E-03 sunroof motor assembly connector terminal No.8 and E-02 sunroof switch connector terminal No.5.



Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 7. Check the wiring harness between E-03 sunroof motor assembly connector terminal No.6 and E-02 sunroof switch connector terminal No.6.



Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 8. Retest the system.


The sunroof function should work normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Replace the sunroof motor assembly.
