REMOVAL SERVICE POINT

<<A>> TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER REMOVAL

1.Set special tool installer inlet ring (MH062687) to the crankshaft, and temporarily install the crankshaft pulley bolt and crankshaft pulley washer.

2.
caution Never turn the crankshaft anti-clockwise.
Turn the crankshaft clockwise to align the exhaust camshaft gear timing mark as shown in the figure and set the No. 1 cylinder to the top dead centre of compression.
note At this time, it is not necessary that the link plate (blue) of the timing chain always aligns with each sprocket match mark.
3.Remove the crankshaft pulley installed temporarily.

4.
warning If the timing chain tensioner set pin (fixed wire) suddenly comes off the timing chain tensioner, it is very dangerous because the plunger jumps out.
Compress the plunger of timing chain tensioner and insert hard wire (such as the piano wire) or the L-shaped hexagon wrench (1.0 mm) to fix the plunger of the timing chain tensioner.
5.Remove the timing chain tensioner.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

>>A<< TIMING CHAIN/CHAIN GUIDE/TENSION LEVER/TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER INSTALLATION

1.Position the exhaust camshaft so that the timing mark on the exhaust camshaft gear is aligned with the upper surface of the cylinder head.
2.Align the mating marks on the sprocket with the blue link plates of the timing chain, and then install the timing chain.
3.Install the chain guide.
4.Install the tension lever. On completion, check that the tension lever pivots smoothly around the bolt.
5.
warning If the timing chain tensioner set pin (fixed wire) suddenly comes off the timing chain tensioner, it is very dangerous because the plunger jumps out.
Install the timing chain tensioner. On completion, remove a hard wire or L-shaped hexagon wrench from the timing chain tensioner to tension the timing chain.
6.Check that the timing chain tensioner plunger is engaged in the groove in the tensioner lever securely.
7.Check that the timing chain links are in proper mesh without adrift.
8.Check that the running surface on the chain guide and the tension lever is in proper alignment with the timing chain.
